Danny Lee contributes to international and UK media, including Channel 4, The Guardian, The Times, The Evening Standard, The Independent and the New Statesman. Since 1990, he has covered stories on the arts, entertainment, the environment, human rights, ethnicity, gender, media, education, mental health, and other topics. He also works with charities (for example Children Heard and Seen), campaigners, and think tanks.
His output ranges from investigative reporting to interviews, reportage, and opinion, he has appeared on Sky News and BBC Radio discussions, and he has helped launch a number of publications. Plus, he works on commissions independently, through agencies, and with designers such as Simon Esterson.
He has written several non-fiction and fiction books, including a children’s novel, Finding Dad (illustrated by Korky Paul, launched at the Hay Festival and later performed by Michael Palin for an audio CD), and a book on the Maudsley mental health hospital in London.
As well as giving media and publishing advice to organisations and individuals, he runs and designs programmes for the National Council for the Training of Journalists, the Press Association, Birkbeck, and City, University of London.
He plays guitar and trumpet.
